Some famous athletes have been convicted of sexual assault, and several reality television stars have spent time in prison for abusing under-age victims. Tragically, many of these famous registered sex offenders targeted young children.

Jeffrey Jones, perhaps best known for his role in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, pled no contest to a felony charge of paying a 14-year-old boy to pose for explicit photos in 2003. He was sentenced to five years probation and was ordered to register as a sex offender. Other famous people who are registered sex offenders include Gary Glitter, Paul Reubens, and Jerry Sandusky.

In 2004, Paul Reubens – who is best known for playing Pee-wee Herman – pled guilty to a misdemeanor obscenity charge after authorities found pornographic photographs in his home. He was sentenced to three years probation and agreed to register as a sex offender.
In 2015, former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle was sentenced to 15 years in prison for child porn and sex crime charges. When he is released from prison, he will have to register as a sex offender and have his digital devices monitored.
Comedian Paula Poundstone took a plea deal to one count of felony child abuse and a misdemeanor charge of inflicting injury upon a child in 2001 in conjunction with driving while intoxicated. She was also charged with lewd acts against a child, but those charges were dropped as part of the plea arrangement.
In 2004, rapper Mystikal was sentenced to a six year prison term for sexual battery after an incident in which he attacked his hairstylist. He is also required to register as a sex offender.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off actor Jeffrey Jones pled no contest to a felony charge of paying a 14-year-old boy to pose for explicit photos in 2003. He was sentenced to five years probation and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
Gary Glitter was ordered to register after a sex offender after he pled guilty to possessing 54 indecent images of children in 1999. He spent four months in jail for his crimes.
Musician Ian Watkins was sentenced to 35 years in prison for multiple sex offenses including the attempted rape of a baby. Police have called him the most dangerous sex offender they’ve seen.
Television host Jimmy Savile never registered as a sex offender in life, but after his death in 2011, it came to light that he had sexually abused dozens of victims – ages five to 75 – during his life.
In 1988, Powder director Victor Salva confessed to five different counts associated with having sex with a 12-year-old boy. He was sentenced to three years in prison and is a registered sex offender in Los Angeles county.

So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Alex Da Silva was sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping and assaulting dance students. He is also required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
In 2013, BBC presenter Stuart Hall admitted to 14 sexual offenses including one on a nine-year-old girl dating back to the late 1960s.
Peter, Paul & Mary musician Peter Yarrow plead guilty to “indecent liberties” with a 14-year-old girl. He was eventually pardoned by President Jimmy Carter in 1981.
So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Shane Sparks plead no contest to charges associated with a lewd act and oral copulation on a person under the age of 16. He spent several months in jail and attended sex-offender counseling following his release.
Viva La Bam personality Vincent Margera was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault of a child in 2006 for groping three underage girls at an autograph signing. He had to register as a sex offender and go on probation, but he also was banned from participating in any “Don Vito” engagements – including Jackass films and TV shows – for 10 years.
Cake Boss personality Remy Gonzales was sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in New Jersey in 2012. He was also mandated to register as a sex offender.
In 2014, Son of Guns star Will Hayden was arrested on juvenile rape charges. He is currently out on bail.
